Under the lemon-warm sun, Nico the daisy leaned over the path to hear a tiny sound. “Hee-hee-hee!” it went, soft as a seed rolling in a paper cup. Nico wanted to know who could giggle without feet, so he let his tall stem bend a little closer.
A butterfly landed on his middle with tickly toes and curly wings. “Excuse me,” she whispered. “Your petals make the best lookout tower.” Nico wiggled, and the bushes rustled hush-hush below.
Then Nico saw it: the winding path was not a path at all from up here. It was a giant smile in the grass! The butterfly had been following the garden’s grin. If you peek back, can you spot the giggle trail under the lemon-warm sun?
