🎨 How to color it

Color the explorer’s cloak deep royal blue, his backpack warm leather brown, the wooden sign arrows honey gold, and the floating cliffs stony gray. Use chunky crayons or markers for the big cloud spaces and cliff faces, then switch to a sharper pencil for the tiny compass needle, map curls, and backpack straps. Try making each sign arrow a different bright color, as if the signpost is playing a sneaky trail game.

Every morning, Edrin marched the wind-shelf trail with his crinkly map and round brass compass, trying to reach the bell tower before the cheese buns cooled. The bridges creaked, the clouds smelled like rain, and the signpost always pointed left, right, and “Absolutely Not.” Until one day, every arrow spun around and aimed at Edrin’s boots.

Because of that, he crouched down and found a tiny door under the signpost, where nobody ever thought to look. Because of THAT, a giggling tunnel-worm popped out wearing the missing bell rope like a scarf. “Wrong way is my favorite way!” it squeaked. Edrin traded one cheese bun crumb for the rope, tied it to his compass, and let the needle tug him across the safest bridge. The bell rang before snacktime, and next time you see those arrows, check whether one is still pointing at Edrin’s boots.
