🎨 How to color it

Color the donut golden brown, the dripping glaze creamy vanilla, the maple leaves burnt orange and crimson, and the little pumpkin a bright harvest orange. Use sharp colored pencils for the leaf veins, sprinkle ovals, and tiny sugar speckles, then switch to smooth marker strokes for the wide donut ring. Try a mischievous twist by making the curling vines dark purple and adding a pale blue shadow inside the donut hole.

The story behind this coloring page

Every afternoon, Quill clicked through the harvest garden with a tin counter, naming each maple leaf by shape: fang-tip, mitten-tip, lightning-tip. He wanted a perfect leaf list before the first frost, but the wind kept flipping his notes with a dry shhhk-shhhk that smelled like cinnamon bark.

Until one day, a giant donut rolled out from under the squash vines and said, “You missed me.” Quill poked its vanilla glaze with his pencil. Because of that, the donut sneezed powdered sugar all over his list. Because of THAT, every sprinkle began marching off the pastry like tiny boots, pointing toward leaves Quill had never noticed: curled ones, nibbled ones, one shaped exactly like a dragon’s eyebrow.

Quill chased the runaway sprinkles past a squat pumpkin and laughing vine curls until finally he stopped counting and started asking questions. The donut hummed, pleased and sticky. “Catalog curiosity,” it said. “It grows faster.” Next time you spot the donut ring among those sharp leaves, check whether one sprinkle is still trying to lead Quill away with a sugar-dust shhhk-shhhk.
