🎨 How to color it

Color the princess’s gown in rose pink and ivory, the chandelier in warm gold, the balcony banners in royal blue, and the tiled floor in pale gray. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny bead chains, dress embroidery, balcony railings, and carved arch details, saving broader marker strokes for the skirt panels. Try a soft golden glow around the chandelier so the princess’s raised hands seem to catch the light.

The story behind this coloring page

Isolde’s Secret Second Dance — Under the gold-belled chandelier, Isolde counted the last notes of the grand dance and the last sugared plum on the musicians’ table. Read the full story →

Under the gold-belled chandelier, Isolde counted the last notes of the grand dance and the last sugared plum on the musicians’ table. She had promised herself one, just one, after smiling through seven bows and a waltz that made her slippers whisper hot against the marble.

She slipped from the bright circle toward the side passage, where the air smelled of candle smoke and orange peel. Behind a carved column, a page no older than ten hugged a torn music folder to his chest. The next song had spilled everywhere: pages under benches, pages near boots, one page sliding toward a wax drip. “If the conductor sees,” he whispered, “I’m finished.” Isolde looked at the plum, shining like a ruby secret, then at the scattered notes. She tucked the plum into his shaking hand and gathered music until dust streaked her gloves.

When the orchestra began again, no one knew why the tune arrived just in time, sweet and brave. Isolde stepped back into the ballroom with empty fingers, but the page had left her something better: the hidden countermelody, hummed low as she turned. If you study the balconies and doorways, you may spot who is guarding the ruby secret while Isolde dances under the gold-belled chandelier.
