🎨 How to color it

Color the princess’s gown in lavender, her crown in bright gold, the diploma ribbon in rose pink, and the castle stones in soft warm gray. Use sharp colored pencils for the small crown points, tassel strands, sleeve trim, and individual arch blocks, then switch to smooth marker fills for the wide skirt panels. Try a pale blue-to-peach sky behind the towers so the lavender gown and gold crown feel extra celebratory.

Before the chapel bell cooled, Liora tucked her diploma under one arm and set herself a tiny challenge: step past the academy arch and ask the first question that made her heart hop. The stone floor still smelled of rain and chalk dust. Beyond the gate, the castle flags snapped softly, and a cloud shaped like a sleeping cat slid over the tower roofs.

At the far side of the arch sat a little brass question box, green with age. Liora had passed it every school day, but never opened it. When she lifted the lid, it whispered, “Payment first.” She had no coins, only her black tassel cord, silky from years of turning pages. With a pinch in her chest, she tied it around the box’s handle.

Inside lay no answer—only a folded map marked with tomorrow’s sunrise path and a note: Ask again where the road bends. Liora laughed, quiet as a turned page. “That is not fair,” she told the box, and loved it at once. She came back through the arch without her tassel, carrying a question that ran ahead of her; if you trace the road behind the towers, can you guess where it bends?
