🎨 How to color it

Color the fish’s scales turquoise and sea green, the treasure chest warm brown with brass bands, and the coral pink-orange with purple shadows. Use sharp colored pencils for the small coins, scale rows, and wood-grain lines, then switch to broader strokes for the fish’s fins and open sand spaces. Try making the rising coins fade from bright gold near the chest to pale yellow near the starry sparkles, as if they are catching secret light.

Behind the red fan coral, where the water tasted faintly of salt and old wood, Milo invented a game called Coin-Quiet. The rule was simple: borrow one coin from the open chest, carry it past three bubble trails without making a clink, and bring it back before the sleepy clam snapped twice.

He slipped from his cozy crack in the rock and nosed toward the treasure thicket. The chest lid creaked in the slow current. Coins winked everywhere, but the first one he touched rang ting! so loudly that a shrimp peeked out and whispered, “Too quick.” Milo waited. Sand tickled his belly. Bubbles plipped past his cheek. At last he chose a flat coin wedged under a pearl string and lifted it gently.

On the way home, the coin did not clink once. Better than winning, it hummed softly against his fin, like it had been waiting for someone patient enough to hear it. Next time you spot the coin nearest Milo’s smile, keep the secret: quiet games can shine.
