🎨 How to color it

Color the elbow macaroni golden yellow, the sauce creamy orange, the spoon shiny silver, and the round bowl sky blue. Use chunky crayons or markers to fill the big noodle curves first, then add the tiny toppings last. Try making a few macaroni elbows darker at one end so they look warm and saucy.

The story behind this coloring page

Why Macaroni Has Elbows — Under the Moon Pantry, Tova carried a tiny copper scoop in her apron. Read the full story →

Under the Moon Pantry, Tova carried a tiny copper scoop in her apron. It had belonged to her big sister, and Tova used it to sneak extra sauce to the small noodles at the bottom of the pot. Clink, clink, went the scoop. The Pantry guards heard everything.

“Hide it quick,” whispered a bean from the steam. Tova tucked the scoop into a straight noodle, but the noodle sagged around it. She tried another. Bend, curl, hook! Soon every noodle curved like a little arm, holding a pocket of sauce for the quietest eaters.

When the guards came, they found no scoop—only a bowl full of helpful bends. Ever since, macaroni has kept its elbows, and if you spot the spoon dipping in, you may find Tova’s secret still serving sauce.
