The bear poured cider, the rabbit praised the dots, and the fox pretended not to notice when Ivo set it down with a clink-clonk-clank. Then the first firework popped, and his uneven mug answered in perfect rhythm, rattling out a tiny drumroll on the checkered blanket. “Encore,” whispered Ivo, smug as steam, and every handmade cup joined the clink-clonk-clank.
