🎨 How to color it

Color the cauldron deep purple, the foamy bubbles lime green, the potion bottle teal, and the little pumpkins bright orange. Use chunky crayons or broad markers for the big cauldron and fire, then switch to a sharper crayon point for the tiny stars, leaves, and bottle label. Try making the smoke swirls rainbow-bright so they look like the spell is dancing up past the bat.

Under the crooked moon tree, Cleo lined up three shiny bubbles and one brave breath. The forest smelled like warm pine logs and peppery leaves as the big pot went glug, glug, glug.

She stirred with the long spoon, slowly at first, then faster as silver sparks zipped past her nose. “I can do one scoop,” Cleo said, and tipped in the blue fizz. Foam climbed up, soft and tickly, while a bat looped through the smoky curls.

Then the spoon bumped something hard where nobody ever looked: beneath the foamy spoon rest. Pop! A tiny pumpkin bell bobbed up, ringing ding-ding-ding, and every bubble answered with a little hop. Cleo laughed and stirred the bell’s song into the brew; next time you spot the bubbling pot, can you find where the first ding was hiding?
