🎨 How to color it

Layer deep teal through the broad paisley ribbons, warm coral in the scalloped borders, and antique gold on the tiny looped bands and leaf shapes. Use sharp pencils and color from the outer edges of each paisley inward, so the narrow curls and nested teardrops stay crisp. For a mischievous twist, hide one bright raspberry spiral among the calmer colors, as if the pattern slipped in a secret.

Every evening, Tessa inked paisleys at her old studio table while the radiator clicked like a tiny typewriter and cinnamon tea cooled beside her wrist. She wanted one perfect scarf block made entirely by hand, no shortcuts, no smudges, no help from the smug copy machine humming in the corner. Until one day, her pen snagged inside a fat curl nobody would ever inspect, and out popped a folded paper mustache.

Because of that, Tessa searched the tight loops with a magnifying glass smelling faintly of glue. Because of that, she found three more surprises: a paper crown, a beetle wearing boots, and a note in her own handwriting saying, “You hid these last winter, genius.” She laughed so hard her ink line wobbled into a better spiral. Finally, she finished the block with one deliberate wink tucked into the pattern, proud that every odd curl, secret, and joke had come from her own two hands.
