🎨 How to color it

Color the builder’s hard hat sunny yellow, the safety vest orange, the pointing friend’s apron sky blue, and the traffic cones bright orange with white stripes. Use chunky crayons or markers for the big shop window, awning panels, and rounded bushes, and do not worry if little hands color past the brick lines. For extra fun, make the road patch a pattern of warm gray, tan, and brick red squares like a game board.

Every afternoon, Nico tapped each paving block—tap, tap, tap—before setting it into the little shop corner. He wanted the straightest path in town, one neat square at a time.

Until one day, he invented Cone-Hop Parade. “Step on gray, hop on red!” he called, and Sella came running, her apron pocket flapping. Because of that, she spotted a wobbly flowerpot on the shop step. Because of that, Nico’s pretend parade became a real road: cones moved, tools clinked, bricks scooted, and the whole sidewalk made a safe zigzag for everyone.

At last, Sella pointed ahead and shouted, “Parade open!” Feet pattered over the new path, sharing Nico’s giant happy feeling from cone to cone. Can you find the first block that might go tap, tap, tap?
