🎨 How to color it

Layer pistachio green and rose pink on the macaron stacks, buttery gold on the cream puffs, ruby red berries with lemon-yellow citrus slices in the tart cups, and antique brass on the ornate tray scrolls. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny berry clusters, pastry crosshatching, wallpaper motifs, and filigree, then blend larger macaron tops with light circular strokes. Try keeping the bakery walls in cool blue-gray so the warm pastries and brass stand look freshly lit from the counter.

The story behind this coloring page

Celia’s Secret Sugar Lift — Before sunrise, Celia counted macarons by the hush of the streetcar wires, polished the brass scrolls, and locked the patisserie before anyone saw her yawn. Read the full story →

Before sunrise, Celia counted macarons by the hush of the streetcar wires, polished the brass scrolls, and locked the patisserie before anyone saw her yawn. One windy morning, a raspberry rolled beneath the heaviest tray; when she tugged it forward, a hidden lift clicked open, smelling of vanilla dust and old copper. Because of that, she lowered dented cream puffs and extra tarts to the tunnel porters below; because of that, their whistles warmed the floorboards all week. At last she left the lift filled, unsigned, and counted macarons by the hush of the streetcar wires.
