🎨 How to color it

Color the crown gold with ruby and sapphire gems, the star wand butter yellow, the ribboned shoes lavender, and the treasure chest warm brown with teal swirls. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny hearts, pearls, glove patterns, and chest curls, working from the outside edges toward the centers. Try making every sparkle around the accessories pale blue, so the gold crown and yellow wand look extra bright.

Behind the breakfast stairs, where the jewel pantry smelled of dust, lemon oil, and old velvet, a princess named Liora set herself a challenge: count every plain bead before the supper gong. No asking the clerks. No skipping the ones on the top shelf. Her fingers shook a little as she opened the smallest drawer, because the pantry was quiet enough to hear pearls click like teeth.

She counted gloves, slippers, buckles, and a sleepy wand with no shine at all. Then a gray bead rolled under the crown case and whispered, “Not there.” Liora swallowed. “Then where?” The bead bumped the mirror, the chest, the bracelet, and both tiny birds fluttered down, stirring air that smelled like feathers and metal. One by one, the plain beads winked into stars, marking every royal thing that had waited in the dark.

Liora did not shout for help. She tapped the last bead onto the crown herself, click. Since that evening, princess things keep little sparkles so brave hands can find them in shadow. If you trace the smallest stars here, you may find Liora’s first click still hiding among them.
