🎨 How to color it

Color the smiling strawberries ruby red, their leafy tops and big veined leaves in two fresh greens, and the tiny hearts and stars in golden yellow. Use sharp colored pencils for the seed dots, crosshatch patches, and little oval sprinkles, then fill the larger berry bodies with smooth marker strokes. Try making the center strawberry the brightest red, with cooler pinks and corals spreading outward like a berry-burst glow.

The story behind this coloring page

The Brave Berry Bell — Under the fizzing vine lights, Tavi tightened her leaf cap and stepped onto the first berry in the Strawberry Spiral. Read the full story →

Under the fizzing vine lights, Tavi tightened her leaf cap and stepped onto the first berry in the Strawberry Spiral. She wanted to climb high enough to start the carnival parade, just once, with her own tap on the leaf-drum. The stack smelled sweet and sun-warm, and every strawberry face below her grinned as if the whole tower were bouncing. “Up-up, Tavi!” called a cherry on a dangling stem.

She climbed past heart flags, star lanterns, and curling green tendrils that tickled her sides. At the middle, the leaf-drum waited, broad and shiny. Tavi raised her little stem, but a tiny sound answered first: ting-ting-ting, bright as a spoon on glass. Everyone went still, not scared—curious.

The sound came from the smallest strawberry hanging under the center leaves, where nobody had looked because it seemed too little for anything important. Tavi peeked beneath its leafy collar and found a seed-sized silver bell tucked inside. She tapped it once. Ting! The vines shivered, the stars bobbed, and the whole spiral became the parade drum. Next time you spot the tiniest berry below the center, listen for Tavi’s brave first ting under the fizzing vine lights.
