Every day, Junie hopped from rug square to rug square while the rain went plip-plop on the glass. She wanted a game no one had ever played before, so she lined up two books, warmed her paws by the cinnamon-smelling cup, and whispered, “This square is drizzle.”
Until one day, the bear in striped pajamas asked, “What comes after drizzle?” Because of that, Junie tied the blanket higher and made a cloud cave. Because of that, each rug square got its own weather: mist, puddle, thunder, hush. At last, Junie reached the final square and bowed under her handmade sky, proud as the tiny steam curls rising up.
