🎨 How to color it

Give the dragon’s scales a burnished copper, its wing membranes a pale amber, the mountain ridges cool slate gray, and the winding river icy blue. Use sharp colored pencils for the small scale patches and mountain cracks, then switch to light side-strokes for the broad clouds and open sky. Try a sunrise gradient behind the raised wings so the copper body feels lit by air it just entered.

The story behind this coloring page

Soren’s Hidden Skyforge — High above the alpine pass, Soren carried a hoop of hammered silver between his claws. Read the full story →

High above the alpine pass, Soren carried a hoop of hammered silver between his claws. He had shaped it himself from fallen star-metal, tapping each strip with a pebble until it rang like frost on glass. Below, the mountains rose in white teeth, and the river stitched the valley with a shining thread. Soren wanted one clear note to finish his wind chime before the evening clouds covered the peaks.

He glided from crag to crag, letting the cold air test his work. Ting, ting, thrum—three notes answered, but the fourth space stayed quiet. He did not hurry. The wind smelled of snow and pine resin, and his wings held steady while he listened to the valley breathe. “Almost,” he whispered, proud of the bright, uneven thing he had made.

Then the sun slipped lower, and the river flashed under him like a silver tool. The missing note had never been in the metal at all. It was hiding in the river’s curve, waiting for his chime to pass over it. When Soren flew above the bend, water-light trembled through the silver hoop, and the fourth note bloomed soft and round. Next time you follow that winding river with your eyes, see if you can hear Soren’s handbuilt chime finishing itself high above the alpine pass.
