Above the ice summit, the wind went whisk-whisk through Rix’s horns as he scratched six little marks into the frost. He had set himself a challenge: find seven snowflakes that were not twins before the sun touched the highest ridge. One had arrow arms. One had ferny arms. One spun so fast it blurred like sugar in a spoon. “Hold still, you glittery puzzles,” Rix huffed, leaping from rock to rock with his tail snapping behind him.
The seventh snowflake landed on his nose and did not melt. Its branches pointed toward the valley, the moon, three hidden springs, and the cave where warm thunder slept. Rix blinked. These were not decorations falling from the sky. They were maps, thousands of tiny maps, each one showing a secret place the clouds had visited.
Rix spread his wings and laughed so loudly the snow jumped off the cliff. He stopped counting and started following. Every flake became a dare, every gust a clue, and curiosity pulled him higher than the peak itself. If you spot the biggest snowflake near his head, can you guess which wild place it wants him to chase next?
