🎨 How to color it

Color the unicorn pearly white with a lavender mane, the snowman's hat and scarf in cherry red stripes, and the tall pine trees deep evergreen. Use sharp colored pencils for the snowflakes, scarf fringes, mane curves, and tiny buttons so the small spaces stay crisp. Try making the unicorn's horn a rainbow twist and add pale blue shadows under the snowman to make the snowy ground feel chilly.

Every day, before the moon slid behind the firs, Bixby gave himself one tiny challenge: straighten all the snow-folk hats before his whisker froze. He counted each tilt—left, right, wobble—while the pines smelled sharp and icy, and his hooves made squeak-squeak music in the snow.

Until one day, a snowman’s striped cap tilted itself back. Bixby poked it. The cap sneezed out three glittery snowflakes. Because of that, Bixby chased them around the biggest pine, and because of that, the snowflakes began copying him—spin, hop, bow—until the whole grove looked like a silly dance lesson. “Hold still, you frosty show-offs!” he laughed.

At last Bixby discovered the trick: the snowman’s carrot grin was whistling through a tiny gap, puffing the flakes and tipping the cap. He plugged the gap with one neat mitten tassel, gave the hat a final pat, and counted, “Perfect!” If you check the snowy trees, you may spot the last show-off flake still trying to do Bixby’s squeak-squeak dance.
