🎨 How to color it

Color the unicorn’s coat pearl white, her wavy mane lavender and sky blue, the graduation cap deep navy, and the diploma warm ivory with a ruby ribbon. Use sharp colored pencils for the narrow mane stripes, horn bands, tassel threads, and little star points so the details stay crisp. Try shading the stars from pale yellow centers to golden tips, as if they are cheering quietly around the cap.

Under the cool academy archway, Petra held her graduation ribbon between her teeth and smoothed it flat with one hoof. She wanted it neat for the walk home, where the youngest foals would be waiting to see the first diploma from their meadow. Then a gust snapped the ribbon loose. It skittered over the stone path with a dry whisper and landed in the fountain’s silver spray.

Petra stepped away from the warm hall, past the clapping and cinnamon-cake smell, to the quiet supply alcove. Only one ribbon lay there, soft and red, beside a stack of plain cords for students who had none. Petra touched it, then heard tiny hoofsteps outside: a shy foal had arrived late, cap bare and eyes shiny. Petra tied the red ribbon onto the foal’s diploma and used a plain cord for her own. “There,” she said softly. “Now yours can travel safely.”

Back beneath the stars, Petra’s cord slipped into a fold nobody had checked. A tiny pocket opened in her diploma, holding a note in gold ink: For the one who gives when no one is looking. Next time you see her tassel hanging beside those stars, can you spot the diploma that kept her secret?
