Under the low roof of prism hollow, Sorrel pressed a plain blue pebble against her cheek and listened to it hum. She wanted to know why it sang only when the other unicorns were away, so she tucked it under her star collar and stepped beyond her warm crystal nook, where the air smelled like rain on stone.
Past the tall quartz teeth, the pebble tugged her toward an oval of silver wind. Swish, hush, swish. Each step cost her one sparkle from her tail, until she reached the whirling gate and touched the pebble to its center. “Tell me,” she whispered.
The gate opened, not to a treasure room, but to every friend in the hollow hearing the same bright note at once. Laughter bounced from crystal to crystal, bigger than any secret Sorrel could keep. Next time you see the raised hoof and the stars spilling around it, can you tell where the joy first rang out under the low roof of prism hollow?
