🎨 How to color it

Use apple green for the seedling leaves, terra-cotta orange for the round pots, barn red for the big barn, and sunny yellow for the daisy centers. Chunky crayons are perfect for the wide wheelbarrow tub, the big wheel, and the open barn walls, and it is okay if little hands color over the thick lines. Try making each pot a different warm color so the row of tiny plants feels like a gentle garden parade.

Soft dirt went pat-pat in Tillie’s little pot. She wanted one more sprout for the wheelbarrow, so she stepped from the shady barn path to the quiet flower bed.

The rake was heavy. Scritch, scritch. Tillie moved it one slow inch, then two. Under the handle, where nobody looked, a tiny green sprout curled like a sleepy finger. “Hello, little one,” Tillie whispered.

She carried it back, muddy knees and all. Next time you see the rake beside the wheelbarrow, can you find the patient little sprout?
