🎨 How to color it

Try honey brown for the hedgehog’s face, chestnut brown for the spiky back, golden tan for the acorn, and pumpkin orange for the oak leaf. Chunky crayons are perfect for the hedgehog’s big round body; little hands can color right over the short spike lines. For a secret autumn touch, make every other spike mark a darker brown so the curled ball looks extra cozy.

The story behind this coloring page

Ludo’s Acorn Roll Game — Under the oak stump, Ludo patted one acorn. Tap-tap. Read the full story →

Under the oak stump, Ludo patted one acorn. Tap-tap. He had a secret game: roll the acorn to a leaf line he made himself.

Out he went, snuffle-snuffle, to fetch the biggest oak leaf. It was scratchy and it tickled his nose. “Shh, game work!” whispered Ludo. He dragged it home, puff-puff, and set it flat.

Then he curled up round and gave the acorn one proud nudge. Bump! It stopped by his leaf line. Next time you see that acorn, you’ll know Ludo made the game himself.
