🎨 How to color it

Color the hedgehog’s face honey tan, the spiky coat chestnut brown, the Santa hat cranberry red, and the scarf bands teal and cream. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny snowflakes on the hat and the zigzags on the scarf, then switch to broader strokes for the round belly and snowy hill. Try making the gift box golden yellow with a berry-red bow so it feels extra bright against the cool blue snowflakes.

The story behind this coloring page

The First Snowflake Gift — Under the whispery pines, Sylvie tucked a small parcel beneath her scarf and stepped onto the moonlit hill. Read the full story →

Under the whispery pines, Sylvie tucked a small parcel beneath her scarf and stepped onto the moonlit hill. She wanted to leave it at the highest pine before the first bell of frost, the way older hedgehogs did, but the snow made the world too quiet. Crunch. Hush. Crunch. Her paws tingled, and the wind smelled like cold bark and peppermint needles. “Just to the next little tree,” she told herself.

Halfway up, a soft tick-tick sounded above her ears. Not from the sky. Not from the parcel. Sylvie reached for the fluffy pom-pom on her red hat, a place no hedgehog ever thought to check, and out rolled a tiny silver seed shaped like a star. When it touched the parcel ribbon, six bright flakes bloomed across her hatband, gentle as lace. The hill shone just enough for one more step, then another, until Sylvie placed her gift beneath the tallest pine.

Ever since that night, hedgehogs sew snowflakes on their winter hats to remember where courage first hid: not in loud roars, but in a soft pom-pom above a worried brow. If you spot Sylvie on the hill, can you find the flakes that helped her take the next little step?
