All morning, Pip jingled her little bell beside the fence. Clink-clank, clink-clank! She had found the funniest sound on the farm: the old tractor’s rubber horn. When the farmer squeezed it, it went AROOGA, and Pip’s knees nearly wobbled with giggles. She wanted everyone by the red barn to hear it.
The tractor rolled up the dusty lane, smelling like warm oil and hay. Pip leaned over the rail and mooed, “Do it again!” AROOGA! From the grass came a tiny answer: “A-roo-ga?” Two chickens popped out, flapping like feather dusters. They had been practicing! Soon Pip jingled, the horn blatted, and the chickens honked along. Next time you spot them near the tractor, can you hear the joy going clink-clank, AROOGA, a-roo-ga?
