Under the salty hush of Sunny Cape, Ozzy rubbed his old round goggles with one sandy toe. They looked like play goggles, but shh—they had belonged to the first tide-pool watcher. Ozzy wanted to see the tiny pools sparkle before lunch, so he stood still while gulls squeaked and warm wind tickled his striped belly.
The sun climbed higher. The waves rolled in, whoosh… wait… whoosh. “Not yet,” Ozzy whispered. At last, one curled wave lifted a silver shell and flashed light straight into his goggles. The lenses blinked back, bright as two little suns, and every tide pool winked at once.
Ever since, Sunny Cape waves wait until noon before they wink. If you spot Ozzy’s goggles, can you keep the secret of the salty hush?
