T. rex coloring pages with roaring dinosaur scenes to print at home
Inside this T. rex collection, you’ll find giant roaring profiles, stomping full-body poses, close-up jaws, hatchling-style cartoons, jungle backdrops, and fossil-museum scenes. The simpler outlines give preschool and early elementary kids big teeth, claws, and tails to color without tiny details. Older dinosaur fans can take on layered scales, rocky terrain, bones, and dramatic shadows around the skull. These printable pages are made for kids who love the king of the dinosaurs, parents planning a dinosaur afternoon, and teachers adding a quick Tyrannosaurus rex activity to a science unit.

Fun facts to share while coloring
Tyrannosaurus rex lived near the end of the Cretaceous Period, about 68 to 66 million years ago, in what is now western North America. Its name means “tyrant lizard king,” a fitting title for an animal that could grow more than 40 feet long. T. rex had a huge skull and thick, serrated teeth; some were as long as bananas when the root is included. Scientists have found that its eyes faced forward, helping with depth perception, and its sense of smell was especially strong. Those famous short arms were not useless: each had two clawed fingers and strong muscles.
Coloring tips
For a classic T. rex palette, try olive green or muddy brown on the back, sandy tan on the belly and throat, darker bands along the tail, charcoal claws, ivory teeth, amber eyes, and a deep pink mouth. Since T. rex pages often have big curved jaws, heavy legs, and long tails, shade in the direction of the body: short pebble strokes for scales, darker color under the chin and tail, and a pale highlight on each tooth. For a theme-specific twist, color one side as a living T. rex and the other as a museum fossil, with bone-white ribs fading into scaly skin.
