🎨 How to color it

Layer deep jade and moss green over the T. rex’s patterned hide, use ivory for the long teeth, and give the surrounding fern fronds soft olive and sage tones. Because the skull, jaw, and neck are packed with tiny curls, scallops, and leaf shapes, use sharp colored pencils and fill one pattern section at a time. Try a cool teal-to-emerald blend around the eye so the steady gaze glows against the warmer greens of the ferns.

The story behind this coloring page

Eira Opens the Green Gate — Every day, Eira walked the glass fernhouse before sunrise, saving pearled mist in shell cups for the rare moon-ferns, while the wet leaves brushed her chin with a clean peppery smell. Read the full story →

Every day, Eira walked the glass fernhouse before sunrise, saving pearled mist in shell cups for the rare moon-ferns, while the wet leaves brushed her chin with a clean peppery smell. Until one day, a dust-winged moth beat against the highest pane, too dry to lift. Because of that, Eira poured her best cup into the air; because of that, the moth rose and shook silver pollen over a bare root no visitor noticed. By dusk, a new fern curled open, small as a question, and Eira kept walking before sunrise, saving pearled mist.
