🎨 How to color it

Color the T. rex moss green, the daisy petals lemon yellow with an orange center, and the butterfly sky blue with lavender spots. Use sharp colored pencils for the dinosaur’s teeth, claws, and the butterfly’s tiny wing loops, then switch to broader strokes for the hills and big flower petals. Try a sunrise fade behind the clouds so the small butterfly feels like it has just zipped into a bright morning.

The story behind this coloring page

Along the flower hills, Quill thundered at sunrise with a seed bead tucked under his tongue. It was dull, brown, and no bigger than a tick, but he carried it through clover mist and warm daisy smell, tapping it against his teeth to keep the running rhythm: tuk-tuk, tuk-tuk. He leaped creek cracks, skidded around fern fans, and laughed when dust puffed around his toes.

At the high bend, butterflies burst from the grass like flying petals. Quill opened his mouth to cheer, and the bead rolled out beside the tallest daisy. He nudged soil over it with one claw. “For later,” he whispered, though no one was close enough to hear.

Then the butterfly he had been following dipped to the ground and touched the covered spot with its feet. Quill saw it clearly now: the bead was not a bead at all, but a sleep-tight flower seed the butterfly had carried until its wings grew tired. Quill bounded away, leaving the hill to bloom behind him, and if you catch his tuk-tuk grin, you may spot the place where generosity nobody heard began at sunrise.
