🎨 How to color it

Color Rex’s spacesuit bright white with cobalt blue patches, make the helmet glass pale aqua, and give the rocket cherry red fins with a silver body. Use sharp colored pencils for the small stars, tail badges, control buttons, and ringed planet lines so the tiny shapes stay crisp. Try a deep navy-to-purple space background, leaving a few white dots around Rex’s helmet to make it sparkle.

The story behind this coloring page

Rex Counts the Wrong Stars — Every night shift, Rex tapped his tablet and counted comet crumbs for the Orbit Playground: one sparkle, two sparkles, twelve exactly, no more. Read the full story →

Every night shift, Rex tapped his tablet and counted comet crumbs for the Orbit Playground: one sparkle, two sparkles, twelve exactly, no more. He liked the soft hum in his helmet, the rubbery tug of his tether, and the way his tail patches wiggled when he floated. Until one day, he challenged himself to tag twelve crumbs backward while chewing moon-mint gum. “Easy-peasy, star-squeezy,” he said.

Because of that, he tapped the ringed planet instead of crumb number nine, and the playground’s star-map hiccupped. Because of THAT, the practice rocket zoomed in curly loops, the moon craters blinked like surprised cookies, and every little star seemed to hop one place over. Rex snorted so hard his helmet fogged with mint.

Until finally, he stopped chasing the map and counted the places that felt like home: rocket whoosh, planet ring, crater moon, tail badge, tablet beep. Twelve! The map settled with a happy ping. If you ever spot a grinning T. rex among the stars, count backward from his rocket trail—he may be exactly where he belongs.
