🎨 How to color it

Color the bunny soft snowy gray, the striped scarf cranberry red and pine green, the holly leaves deep green, and the carrot bright orange with a golden bow. Use chunky crayons or markers for the bunny’s big face and round ornaments, and don’t worry if the color hops over the bold lines. Try making every snowflake pale blue, then give the carrot bow a little extra yellow so it looks like the secret star of the page.

Behind the snow-hutch, Clover tucked one crunchy carrot under his scarf. He wanted to leave it for the tired pine watch before anyone saw. The night smelled like cold needles and sweet berries, and the ornaments went clink-clink in the branches.

Then Clover heard a tiny sneeze from the giant round ornament by the drift. “Psst!” he whispered. Inside sat three hungry snow-mice, too shy to ask for supper. Clover split his carrot, but one piece rolled away, so he tied the rest with his scarf thread and left it on top.

By morning, every rabbit copied him: carrots for sharing must wear a bow, so even secret helpers can find them. Next time you spot that ribboned carrot, keep Clover’s secret with me.
