🎨 How to color it

Give the fairy’s ruffled dress a petal pink, her long hair a honey gold, her patterned wings a pale lavender, and the curling vines a leafy green. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny skirt swirls, wing curls, and crown points, then fill the larger dress panels with smooth crayon strokes. Try making each bubble light blue on one edge and leaving a little white shine, so they seem to float around her raised hand.

Under the warm leaf-lamp, Zadie tugged at her loose ankle ribbon. She wanted one she had twisted by herself, not one from the ribbon basket. So she stepped past the sleepy fern curtain to find moon-thread on the high vines, where the air smelled green and wet.

A pale moth shivered there, caught in a sticky curl. “Snip softly,” it whispered. Zadie used her best ribbon as a tie to free the moth, and the silk came away wrinkled and plain. But the moth left one silver strand on her palm, soft as a sigh. Back home, Zadie braided it with the wrinkled ribbon, loop by loop, until it fit her ankle just right. When she danced, the new bow fluttered proudly; can you spot the ribbon that began under the warm leaf-lamp?
