🎨 How to color it

Color the coffin deep violet, the crescent moon buttery yellow, the roses crimson and pink, and the bats charcoal gray. Use chunky crayons or broad markers for the large coffin panels, then help small hands circle slowly inside each rose spiral. For a secret Halloween glow, shade the fence pale blue and leave a thin white sparkle along one side of the moon.

Behind the squeaky white fence, Liora kept one paper moon-petal in her coat pocket. She wanted to save it for the gate bell, because the bell looked lonely when the wind went clink-clink. But a soft tap came from the rose row, tiny as a beetle knocking on a leaf.

Liora stepped off the crunchy path. Thorns snagged her sleeve, and one shoe filled with cold mud. At the tall coffin, she saw old roses drooping around a dull moon mark. “This is between us,” she whispered. She tucked her moon-petal into the top rose and hurried back.

By the gate, the bell gave one warm clink all by itself. In Liora’s pocket sat a velvet rose seed, though nobody had seen her share. If you spot the coffin moon, keep the secret: the rose row remembers every tiny tap.
