🎨 How to color it

Color the smiling bowl a sunny yellow, the strawberries ruby red, the orange slices tangerine, and the kiwi or melon cubes soft green. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny seeds, cheek circles, and patterned cube sides, then switch to broader strokes inside the bowl and spoon. Try making the bouncing fruit slightly brighter than the fruit tucked in the bowl, as if the toss lifted them into a sparkle of light.

Every evening in the harvest hall, a melon cube named Dessa stacked grapes, tucked berries, and smoothed orange slices into the same quiet rows. She wanted to make a salad that felt made by her own small hands, not copied from yesterday’s wooden tray. The room smelled of mint leaves and sweet juice, and the spoon went clink, clink, clink against the big round bowl.

Until one day, a cloud-sprite no bigger than a blueberry tumbled through the skylight and landed in the lettuce with a silver sneeze. “Stir upward,” it whispered. Because of that, Dessa tilted the spoon like an oar and scooped from the very bottom. Because of that, cubes spun, plums bobbed, berries sailed, and every piece found a place Dessa had not planned but somehow knew.

At last she pressed one final grape into a gap with her fingertips. The salad glowed with colors she had chosen, lifted, and set herself. If you catch the fruits mid-bounce, can you spot the tiny pride in the clink, clink, clink?
