🎨 How to color it

Color the bunnies soft cocoa and vanilla cream, the chicks buttery yellow, the patterned candy eggs pastel pink, mint, and sky blue, and the little flowers sunny orange. Use chunky crayons or washable markers for the big faces and egg shapes, and don’t worry if tiny grass lines get skipped. Try making each egg pattern different—dots on one, zigzags on another, and rainbow stripes behind the bunny’s floppy ear.

In the blossom patch, Pippa tucked a plain sugar egg under her downy wing and tapped the tiny flower button on her chest. Tap, tap—soft as crumbs. She wanted the egg to be ready for the spring basket, but it stayed smooth and white. The rabbits tied their bows. The clouds drifted like marshmallows. “Not yet,” hummed the sun, warm on Pippa’s beak.

So Pippa waited. Bees buzzed over the daisies, and the grass smelled green and sweet. At last, her flower button warmed and pressed a little print onto the egg: one dot, then another. The rabbits gasped. The other eggs listened, and stripes, swirls, and zigzags woke up all around the patch. Ever since, candy eggs wear patient little patterns. Can you find the first dot Pippa waited for?
