🎨 How to color it

Color the bear honey brown, the big and little B letters sky blue, the school roof brick red, and the apple trees leafy green. Use chunky crayons for the bear and letters, then switch to a sharper crayon tip for the small apples, honeycomb shapes, and book lines. Try making the paint in the pot a bright yellow so it looks like the bear is sharing sunshine with both B’s.

Every day, Bram carried a little jar in his backpack and painted one quiet dot on the schoolyard stones. The paint smelled like warm honey and lemon peel. He saved it because his aunt had whispered, “This is for a day that needs extra bright.”

Until one windy afternoon, the alphabet letters rolled out for recess, and the big B and baby b sat in the shade, looking pale as chalk. Bram dipped his brush. Because of that, a golden stripe curled across the B’s belly. Because of that, bees hummed over the honeycomb stones, apples shone in the trees, and books rustled open as if they wanted to sing.

“More,” Bram breathed, and shared the bright until everyone glowed. Next time you see the tiny paint jar by Bram’s paw, can you tell which splash began the joy?
