🎨 How to color it

Color the bug sunny yellow, the jar’s bow strawberry red, the cloth lid pale lavender, and the leafy stems fresh green. Use chunky crayons or markers for the bug’s round face and body, then switch to a sharper pencil for the tiny stars and little berry circles. Try a soft blue glow inside the jar so the yellow bug looks extra bright against the plants.

In a warm glass garden on the windowsill, Fenna tapped one foot in the soft moss and set herself a tiny challenge: count every sparkle before the moon reached the roof. The jar smelled like damp leaves and clean cotton from the tied cloth top. “One star, two stars,” she whispered, brushing past the tall grass. Her antennae bobbed like two question marks.

More sparkles winked between the stems, and Fenna counted slowly so none would feel rushed. Then a new shine appeared, not on the moss at all, but beyond the glass: a real window star blinking back at her. Fenna’s smile grew so wide she had to share it, so she blinked her own little glow—hello, hello, hello. If you peek among the leaves and stars, you may catch the moment Fenna’s antennae bobbed like two question marks.
