With his red scarf bob-bob-bobbing, Quill tucked five shiny coins under his fin. He had made himself a pirate challenge: hide every coin before the lunch bubbles rang. Plink! One coin went by the tube sponges. Plunk! One slipped near the wiggly grass. Nobody saw, which made Quill grin so hard his eye patch wiggled.
Near the big shell, he placed the last coin beside a round pearl. Then the pearl sneezed, “P-too!” Two little fish popped out from behind the coral with ribbon seaweed. The “pearl” was their parade drum, and every secret coin had become a surprise decoration. Quill bowed. “Arrr, nicely stolen by kindness!” Next time you spot his curly tail by the chest, can you guess where he hid the first coin?
