🎨 How to color it

Give the gnome’s tall hat a tomato red, his coat a leafy green, the watering can a cool sky blue, and the sun a bright golden yellow. Use chunky crayons or washable markers for the gnome’s big hat, coat, and beard, then tap lighter colors into the small path stones and flower petals. Try making the two winding stone paths alternate tan and gray so they look like a playful garden trail.

Every morning, Pip watered the flowers in a quiet loop: splash for the tulips, sprinkle for the daisies, glug-glug for the big leafy bush. He liked the wet-earth smell, but his boots wanted more than plod, plod, plod.

One bright morning, he invented Pathstone Dash. “Only oval stones!” Pip shouted, and leaped with his watering can sloshing. Because of that, the tulips got zigzag rain. Because of that, the daisies shook like tiny drums. Because of THAT, the dry flowerpot at the path’s bend boomed, “My turn!”

Pip skidded, spun, and landed exactly beside it. He poured one silver splash, and the whole garden seemed to cheer in leafy whispers. Next time you see the winding stones, can you find the spot where Pip’s boots stopped plod-plod-plodding?
