🎨 How to color it

Color the seahorse golden orange with teal fin rays, make the branching coral coral pink, and give the anemones sunny yellow centers with lavender petals. Use sharp colored pencils for the seahorse’s small body plates and work from the outside edges inward so the rounded sections stay neat. Try shading each bubble pale blue on one side and leaving a tiny white shine inside the circle.

The story behind this coloring page

The Secret in Sora’s Curl — Under the whispering reef, Sora tapped shell scraps together: tik, tik, tik. Read the full story →

Under the whispering reef, Sora tapped shell scraps together: tik, tik, tik. She wanted to make a lantern for the Moon-Tide Parade with her own fins, not borrow one from the lantern crabs. But every pearl she polished stayed dull, and every kelp thread snapped like wet noodles.

“Check the obvious places,” said Brindle the shrimp, waving a feeler toward the caves. Sora checked. Sand, shadows, and one grumpy clam. Then she checked the coral cups, the sponge holes, even the anemone’s tickly arms. Nothing. Here’s the secret part: Sora finally looked in the one place nobody ever searched—inside the tight curl of her own tail. Wedged there was a seed of sea-glass, warm as a sleepy star.

She wrapped it in shell ribs, tied it with kelp, and the lantern glowed green-gold through the bubbles. Ever since, seahorses curl their tails to keep tiny surprises safe until their fins are ready to make something wonderful. If you spot Sora’s curl, you’ll know where the first sea-glass secret slept: tik, tik, tik.
