Every morning in the kelp nook, Pip tapped his shell: tik-tik, tok-tok, wake up, weeds! Tiny bubbles popped against his nose, and the sea grass swished like silly hair. He wanted the loudest, wiggliest rhythm in the reef before breakfast.
Until one day, the shell sneezed. “A-choo-bloop!” Out popped a clam wearing a pearl for a hat. Because of that, Pip laughed so hard his bubbles came out shaped like hiccups. Because of THAT, the shrimp band, crab twins, and sleepy snail all came scooting over to hear the sneezy beat.
Finally, Pip handed the clam a seaweed baton, and together they played a song so joyful the coral wobbled. “Again!” shouted Pip. Next time you spot the shell in his fins, can you imagine the tiny achoo-bloop hiding inside?
