🎨 How to color it

Color the larger seahorse coral pink, the smaller seahorse sunny yellow, the bubbles pale aqua, and the tall seaweed bright emerald green. Use sharp colored pencils for the scalloped back fins, cheek spots, and belly bands, then switch to smooth marker strokes for the open bodies. Try a soft blue-to-lavender wash behind the bubbles so the two curled tails stand out like little spirals.

The story behind this coloring page

Rumi’s Whispering Bubble — Behind the tall ribbon weed, Rumi tapped one bubble, then another, hunting for the quietest pop in the whole current. Read the full story →

Behind the tall ribbon weed, Rumi tapped one bubble, then another, hunting for the quietest pop in the whole current. She wanted it for her pebble shelf, where noisy bubbles kept wobbling her shell buttons. Ploop, plip, ploop—the water smelled green and peppery as she drifted away from her snug sponge hollow. A silver snail slid from a leaf and whispered, “Trade you one hush-bubble for a ride past the tickle grass.”

Now, between us, tickle grass is trouble. It brushed Rumi’s belly plates until she sneezed out three bubbles she had saved, and one carried off her favorite blue speck of sand. The snail hummed a tiny map-song, and Rumi followed through stems tall as towers to a round clearing where every bubble rose silently.

Rumi tucked one hush-bubble under her chin, but the clearing hummed like her own shelf when friends came near. She led the snail back home and placed the bubble in the doorway instead. From then on, anyone who entered heard the softest welcome: ploop, plip, ploop—can you spot the bubble Rumi chose?
