Under the soft swish-swish of seaweed, Lio counted bubbles from his cozy coral post. He wanted one blue bubble for his tiny heart-marked cheek, but every bubble popped before he could carry it home. At last, he curled his tail tight and drifted past the tickly weeds to the old spiral shell, where the water smelled like salt and quiet rain.
Tap. Wait. Tap. Wait. Nothing happened. Lio’s fin grew tired, and a crab borrowed his best shiny pebble as payment for directions. Still, Lio waited beside the shell until moonlight slid over its stripes. Then a blue bubble rose from the shell’s smallest curl, humming a sleepy tune. “There you are,” whispered Lio. He brought the song home instead of the bubble, and whenever the seaweed went swish-swish, he waited, smiling. Can you spot where the secret bubble first peeked out?
