🎨 How to color it

Color the baseball bright white with red stitches, the cap royal blue with a red B, the bat honey brown, and the stars sunny yellow. Use chunky crayons or markers for the big round baseball and wide field shapes, then switch to a sharpened red pencil for the stitch marks. Try giving the cap brim a darker blue edge so it pops above the smiling face.

Under the loud blue morning, Bixby rolled onto home plate and set his little challenge: wave before the third sky-bounce. Thump went the bat beside him. Pop went one practice ball in the air. Bixby’s cap wiggled, and his cheeks felt warm as the white chalk tickled underneath.

One bounce, two bounce—then the clouds puffed closer. They were not clouds at all, but soft sky mitts tossing tiny baseballs between them. “My turn!” Bixby called, and lifted his hand on the third bounce. The sky mitts cheered with whoosh-whoosh wind, the stars blinked like scoreboard lights, and Bixby stayed right there, brave and beaming, on the tickly white chalk. Can you spot the sky mitts waiting for the next bounce?
