Every day after breakfast, Sebastian patted wet sand into giant letter molds while the tide went shhhh-slap, shhhh-slap behind him. He wanted his name to stand tall before the gulls found his snack crumbs. One day, he invented Shell Stadium: every scallop shell had to slide into a letter curve, and every starfish was worth a mighty “ta-da!”
Because of that, the little crab referee scuttled over and clacked both claws. “No boring rules!” he squeaked, and flicked a shell right onto the wrong letter. Because of THAT, Sebastian built a tiny castle scoreboard, dug wiggly moats, and made new rules with his own sandy hands: crab shots counted double if they made everyone laugh. At last, the crab bowed, Sebastian cheered, and the waves clapped foam at his finished name. Next time you spot those shells, can you tell which one won Shell Stadium?
