She wanted to make the silliest birthday bouquet for her hamster, Pickle: roses in front, balloons in back, and one cupcake on top. Until one day, the cupcake would not sit still. It wiggled. Because of that, Kiki poked the frosting with a craft stick and found a tiny handmade candle hiding sideways, where nobody had thought to look. Because of THAT, the candle popped up, the balloons bumped the shelf, and star confetti rained into Pickle’s water bowl—plink, plink, plink!
