🎨 How to color it

Try lime green for the monster, sunny yellow for the ringed planet, red-orange for the rocket, and cool gray for the crater moon. Use chunky crayons or broad markers for the monster’s round belly and the wide planet rings, then switch to a sharp crayon tip for the little stars and dots. For a fun space twist, color the monster’s spots in alternating purple and blue so they look like tiny moon badges.

The story behind this coloring page

On the bumpy moon, Nix pressed one foot into gray dust and practiced a tiny wave. The rocket parade would puff by after lunch, and Nix wanted to wave first, not hide behind the big ringed planet. “Just one brave wiggle,” Nix whispered, while moon dust tickled his toes.

He tried again. Wiggle-wiggle. A crater nearby answered with a soft plink! Nix leaned closer and found a secret door no one had noticed, tucked under a loose moon pebble. Inside sat a pocket-sized moon band, with three beetle drummers and a comet kazoo, all waiting for someone to start the parade.

Nix laughed so hard his antennae bobbed. He waved wide, the band played plink-a-zoom, and the rocket dipped its nose like a bow. Next time you spot Nix’s raised hand, see if you can hear that first brave wiggle.
