🎨 How to color it

Color the gnome’s polka-dot hat cherry red with white spots, his beard snowy white, the COFFEE mug sky blue, and the floating beans cocoa brown. Use chunky crayons or broad markers for the big hat, mug, boots, and beard, and don’t worry if little hands color over the thick black lines. Try making the three steam curls different warm colors—peach, golden yellow, and cinnamon—so the mug looks secretly magical.

The story behind this coloring page

Ludo’s First Sip Secret — Beside the foggy harbor steps, Ludo wrapped both hands around Aunt Saffy’s huge mug and tiptoed from his warm stool. Read the full story →

Beside the foggy harbor steps, Ludo wrapped both hands around Aunt Saffy’s huge mug and tiptoed from his warm stool. He wanted one tiny sip before the bell buoys rang, because the mug smelled like toasted beans, brown sugar, and a secret grown-ups forgot to hide. But the steam curled up—whoosh, loop, wiggle—and tugged him down the damp steps toward the sleeping boats.

Halfway there, a gull bumped his elbow. Plip! A splash of coffee jumped into the fog, and the fog turned gold. “Don’t tell,” whispered Ludo. The bell buoys began bonging with joy, and every boatman peeked out smiling. Ludo carried the mug back lighter, with no first sip at all, but with enough warm golden fog for everyone. If you spot the curly steam, maybe you know where the secret slipped out.
