🎨 How to color it

Color the ghost a soft pearl gray, the heart balloon bubblegum pink, the little flowers sunny yellow, and the floating hearts cherry red. Use crayons or markers for the ghost’s big open body, then switch to a sharper pencil for the tiny dots, flower petals, and ribbon curls. Try making the balloon darker at the bottom and lighter at the top so it looks shiny like a real party balloon.

The story behind this coloring page

Every evening, under the sleepy flowers of Blossom Lane, Tovi tied his red heart balloon to his wrist and counted its soft tugs: one for hello, two for remember. It was the last balloon from a party where a traveling moth band had played silver bells, and Tovi wanted it to float beside him forever. Until one day, the balloon stopped tugging and leaned toward a crack in the path, where a moonseed lay cold and dull as a pebble.

Because of that, Tovi knelt in the petal-smelling dark and looped the balloon string around the seed. Because of that, the seed rose just enough to catch the moon mist drifting over the flowers. “Up you go,” Tovi whispered, though nobody was there to clap. By morning, a tiny glowing sprout curled beside the path, and Tovi’s empty wrist felt light. Next time you spot his heart balloon, can you guess what it lifted first?
