🎨 How to color it

Color the gnome’s tall hat cranberry red with mint stripes, his scarf golden yellow, the snowman’s top hat charcoal, and the pine trees deep forest green. Use chunky crayons or markers for the big hat, round snowman belly, and wide snowbanks, and don’t worry if little hands color over the bold lines. Add a tiny silver or pale blue glow around the star wand so it feels like the quietest magic in the snowy woods.

The story behind this coloring page

Tavish’s Quiet Star Wand — Under the soft thump-thump of falling snow, Tavish tucked an empty cup into his scarf and stepped out from his snug root burrow. Read the full story →

Under the soft thump-thump of falling snow, Tavish tucked an empty cup into his scarf and stepped out from his snug root burrow. He wanted one blue frost berry to make his cocoa sparkle. Past the sleepy pines he trudged, crunch, crunch, until a top-hatted snowman lifted a twig arm. A tiny star wand lay half-buried by his round base, humming like a bee in a mitten.

“Is this yours?” Tavish whispered. The snowman’s coal smile did not move, but his scarf fluttered toward the dark trees. Tavish gave up his cup, scooped the wand free, and brushed snow from its star. A soft blue shine spilled over the snowman’s carrot nose, then darted into the pines, waking berries on every branch. Tavish picked just one and left the rest shining for anyone cold and hungry. If you peek between the snowflakes, you might spot the quiet star he brushed clean under the soft thump-thump snow.
