🎨 How to color it

Give the gnome’s spotted hat a cherry red with cream dots, his tunic a moss green, the fairy’s wings a pale lavender, and the mushrooms warm orange caps. Use sharp colored pencils for the swirls inside the fairy wings and the small stars, then switch to broader strokes for the tree trunks and leafy flower stems. Try making the floating hearts pink and the sparkles golden so the little flower between the gnome and fairy feels like the garden’s brightest secret.

The story behind this coloring page

Under the lace-leaf trees, Tavish tucked his smallest daisy into his belt and followed the hush between bee-buzz and birdcall. He had pressed that daisy flat last spring inside his old map book, not because it was rare, but because it had grown beside the doorstep of his first burrow. Now he wanted to give it to the grove that had been humming in his dreams, where the air smelled like rain on warm bark and every mushroom cap seemed to listen.

At the ring of tall flowers, he held out the daisy. A fairy drifted down, her wings catching silver bits of light, and she laughed softly, not at him but with the chiming leaves. “That is not a gift,” she said. “That is a key.” She touched the daisy’s center, and the grove answered: hearts of pollen rose, star-specks blinked between branches, and the big spotted mushroom opened its gills like a tiny striped awning.

Tavish understood then. His plain little flower had remembered the shape of home and carried it here. The fairy placed it back in his hand, and the grove made room for his boots in the moss. If you ever spot him offering that daisy again, listen for the hush between bee-buzz and birdcall.
